The end of January.

The end of January is here! Hello February. This has been one of the weirdest winters I've ever spent in Rexburg, but I can't complain. There has hardly been any snow and its already FEBRUARY! This last week was my birthday, and it was difficult to admit that I'm this old. Which really isn't that old, but it seems old enough to me. A quarter of a century... wowzers! Well here are some highlights from my birthday. I went to Millhollow, one of my favorite sandwich places. They have the best turkey BLT mmm mmm MMM! The sandwich was followed closely by a chocolate frozen yogurt with butterfinger swirled in. Yum!
Sometime after we got married, I tried the jumbleberry pie at Frontier Pies and decided to get it instead of a cake for my birthday. Every year since, I've had my own pie on my birthday. Sometimes I share, and sometimes I don't. Whatever. But this year I DID actually share. In the pictures below, you can see how MUCH I shared... and how much I got to eat later on :)

We went bowling with the Daltons

and Garrett

And had a lot of fun. The best part was changing everyone's names while it was their turn, so then the next time they got a strike or spare they got to see what their new name was. I think that was more fun than the actual bowling... I'll have to work on my game.

I wanted to get into Valentines a little more this year, or rather, I was bored and wanted an excuse to buy crafty things, so below are a couple pictures of what I've been working on. They're a little dark. (thank you Pinterest for the ideas!)

And this little beauty I found randomly when I had the itch to make myself some waffles for lunch one day. I pulled out the waffle iron to start heating it up, mixed up the waffle batter, then lifted the lid to spray it. When what to my wondering eyes should appear...
but an old waffle from like a week an a half ago. GROSS

2012

Here are a bunch of photos from our Christmas vacation:

Bailey using my phone case as a flip flop.

I sent Greg to get some wrapping paper. Apparently he didn't like Wal Mart's prices. So he came home with two huge rolls of wall paper from DI instead. That was a first!

I can't believe its a new year already! Time has just been flying by. Since we've been home from Delaware, we've been to Colorado twice, Utah FIVE times, and have had family come to visit us. Its been a crazy 3 months! The holidays were wonderful. It was so much fun to spend them all with family. We are so blessed to have such an amazing family. We hope this new year brings peace and much happiness to everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

So this is a day late, but that's how I roll. We had a good Thanksgiving and were lucky to have family up here to spend the day with. Greg's mom moved up here this summer and she invited us to eat at her home. Greg's brother Garrett and his wife, Josie, were also there. I bought my first ham ever! Which was awesome -love ham. And Greg made the mashed potatoes. It was such a relaxing day. And then to top it off, Garrett and Josie came over to our house after dinner with her family, and we played Monopoly. All the way through. I haven't done that it a looong time.

Well as I write this, I feel sort of lazy and bored, and it has reflected in my typing. So I'm just gonna be happy that I've updated and call it quits. :)

November

Its crazy how quickly time flies! Its already mid November, Sheesh! I was talking to a lady on the phone the other day, (I work at Artco, a paper company, taking in-bound calls for customer service and placing orders for cards) and this lady was saying she not only had all of her Christmas decor up, but this order that she was placing for business cards was the very last of her Christmas gifts she had to get done. I couldn't believe it! I haven't even THOUGHT about what to do for Christmas.

Anyway, since my last post in October, I got a temporary job, started working out with Maggie again, decorated my house for Christmas :)

my dad got baptized

This is the whole family minus a nephew (Hunter), and a sister-in-law (Kristin). We'll have to see what magic we can work with photo shop.

I made some bread and it was good for the first ten minutes after it came out of the bread machine (when it was still warm) and then it tasted really blah. So Greg and I took a little trip over to the Nature Park to feed the rest of the bread to the ducks.
We started organizing a bit and we realized Greg has a little hat problem. He NEVER wears these hats. The only hat he ever wears is this old beanie because he thinks it helps keep his hear from getting poofy.
And this picture I thought was funny. We had Greg's brothers Garrett and Matthew as well as Matthew's wife Heather sleeping over at our house. Greg and I came downstairs and saw this and both turned to each other so confused at first, like "what the heck?" then we realized, Matthew and Heather got up at 6 to go to the temple and apparently didn't want to make too much noise as they got their breakfast before they left. So they left all the cupboards and drawers open as they got out bowls, spoons, and cereal. It made us laugh :)

Random

While we were in Colorado we hit up the zoo. Greg's family has yearly passes so we got to go for free! I don't think I could ever get tired of the zoo-I love it! We had a great time with Angela, Joshua, and Grace.

This is Joshua and I trying to feed birds. It was this cool little room filled with tons of different birds flying loose all around the room.
This is Grace. We went to this fun little diner to eat breakfast one morning and Angela ordered a pancake for Grace and they brought out this GINORMOUS pancake. She's 2 :) haha! We had a great time and Greg and I love breakfast any time of the day. Her expression is perfect.

AWESOME DI FINDSThis shot didn't do it justice, but I just bought that mug with the fruit on it for cocoa. It will fit 3 times the amount as that little black one. I'm so excited!!!!!

And this little beauty I bought for $2. I have a little pink one that I spent over $30 on about 4 years ago that is a little too tight. This one will be PERFECT. The straps adjust and the pocket is even better than my old one. I don't always find cool stuff when I frequent DI but this last trip was pretty sweet.

Greg's knocking duds. After months of wearing the same shorts and same shoes every day, they get pretty worn out. They were retired after the summer. Goodbye worn out clothes!

Heenternet

After a few phone calls, assurances, and a few more phone calls later, we have internet. I'm glad I'm married to Greg for MANY reasons but after yesterday I'm reminded how glad I am that I'm married to Greg for his amazing talent of talking to people and persuading them to do what he wants.

We called Quest which is now Centurylink or something like that, to hook up our internet again since we disconnected it while we were away for the summer. They gave us a great rate yada yada yada, it would be connected on Monday. Well Monday came and almost went and still no internet, so late Monday night Greg calls to figure out why it wasn't working, and the sales rep or cust service person (whatever he was) proceeded to tell him that since the company changed over, the modem we had was outdated and the only thing he could do for us was to send us a new modem (at the Oh, so affordable rate of $5 per month to RENT). Incredulously, Greg asked, "Seriously? There is nothing else you can do?" To which the Rep responded, "Let me see if I can save you some money somewhere else to make up for the modem... Do you have a TV?"
Greg says, "Yes. A big one."
"We can go ahead and set you up for cable included for only $50 a month. oh and it is a two year commitment."
Greg: "Are you serious? Do people actually ever say 'yes' to that?"
Rep: "Sometimes."
Greg: "HAHA. No I don't want that. Do not sign me up for ANYTHING. Just transfer me over to tech support."
Elevator music begins to play...
Tech support comes on the phone. They reset the router and give Greg the Authentication Key and BAM! Suddenly we have internet. Without having to lease a new modem and without having to sign up for stupid cable that we couldn't possibly care less about! Seriously? Seriously. If we weren't getting such a screaming deal...

Anywho, we are home and happy to be here. It been a fun, relaxing week. Now to get busy and find ourselves some jobs!

HOME

We are finally going home and I am so excited!
We flew into Denver Tuesday Sept 27th and stayed a few days with Greg's family. We went to the zoo and fed giraffes, saw some big bears wrestle, and a whole bunch of other fun animals (one-handed monkeys included). We hung out and played games and ate delicious food :)

Saturday we flew into Salt Lake City and went to dinner with my mom. It was funny as it got later, more and more white-shirted men came into the restaurant after the Priesthood Session of Conference got over. We are staying in Utah a few days and then headed back home to Idaho! Yeehaw!
